Surrender has got me in a bind,
twisted in knots, hard to unwind.
Father bids me come,
I decline the welcome.
He bids me trust,
the winds of fiery doubt blast.
He bids me follow,
my conflicting desires bellow.
He bids me, taste and see,
my past clings on, a raging sea.
I yearn for life,
hope will not die,
I yearn for freedom,
from the clutches of sin, to be done,
I yearn for a love unchanging,
that through the seasons remains unyielding,
I yearn for blessing,
that carries not a sorrowing.
Lord, I believe.
Help my unbelief.
Teach me to let go,
to the fallen man, to say no,
show me the path of life,
that I may thrive,
with fullness of joy in your presence,
and at your right hand, pleasures forevermore.
